ITINERARY OF 13 DAYS TOUR FROM TANGIER

DAYS 1: TANGIER– RIF MOUNTAINS – CHEFCHAOUEN:

After picking you up from the airport or hotel, our driver will take you on an exciting trip to Chefchaouen, which is situated in the Rif Mountains. From Tangier, the two-hour journey offers expansive vistas of rolling hills and charming towns.

Once you’ve arrived in Chefchaouen, settle into your riad or hotel and start your inquiry. The buildings in the city are renowned for their blue hue, which contributes to the romantic ambiance. Explore the busy souks, meander through the Medina’s narrow lanes, or relax at one of the charming cafes or restaurants serving mouthwatering Moroccan fare.

DAY 2 : EXPLORE THE BLUE CITY OF CHEFCHAOUEN:

We are going to spend the day appreciating Chefchaouen, the blue city. The city’s medieval medina exudes a laid-back vibe thanks to its blue-washed structures and amiable residents. Discover the small lanes and twisting pathways that crisscross the northern slope. Explore the main plaza, Plaza Outa el-Hammam, and have meals at neighborhood cafés or eateries.

In the afternoon, climb the hill to the city walls, then take the path to Hotel Atlas, where you may get a great view from the rooftop. Don’t overlook the eastward streets that lead to the white Spanish Mosque, which is located on a walk up the hill and provides a fantastic location for sunsets behind the mountains (20 to 30 minutes).

DAY 3: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FES:

We are going to Fes after breakfast. We will make a stop to the Volubilis Roman Ruins, which are protected by UNESCO, en route. Founded in the third century BCE and abandoned almost a millennium later, this enormous edifice was formerly a thriving city in a remote part of the Roman Empire.

After there, we go on to Meknes, a city from the 17th century that served as Morocco’s capital. Explore the quaint walled old town, which is home to the well-known Bab el Mansour gate. See the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a holy place devoted to the renowned Sultan Moulay Ismail, and marvel at the gate’s exquisite carvings and decorations. We’ll travel to Fes after lunch, where we’ll spend a relaxing evening at a stunning riad.

DAY 4: EXPLORE FES WITH A LOCAL GUIDE:

Following breakfast at your riad, you’ll meet our local guide and explore the small, twisting streets of Fes medinas, immersing yourself in the city’s rich history and culture. The famous Bab Boujeloud gate in Fes el Bali (789 ACE) is the starting point of the exploratory tour, which continues until Talâa Kebira’s main avenue.

As you stroll past shops and souks (markets) searching for gifts and mementos, take in the architecture with influences from Spain and Tunisia. See the age-old practices in action at the Chouara Tannery, which dates back to the eleventh century. See the intricate zellij tile work of the 14th-century Al Attarine Madrasa before moving on to the “new city” of Fes el Jdid (13th century).

Take in expansive city views from the Mellah, the historic Jewish neighborhood, and the cemetery. If you have the time, explore Ville Nouvelle to witness the remarkable architectural transformation. We’ll end the day by giving you some free time to spend exploring Fes at your own pace before you go to your lodging.

DAY 5: FES – IFRANE – AZROU – MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS – SAHARA DESERT:

We will travel to Ifrane, sometimes called Morocco’s Switzerland, after breakfast in your riad, so you can capture stunning photos and soak in the beauty of the town. Next, we visit Azrou’s cedar grove, where several entertaining monkeys call home.

We grabbed lunch in Midelt after that. In the afternoon, we traverse the TIZI N TALGHAMT pass, which offers breathtaking views of the Ziz Valley and the gorges. We proceed through Aoufous and Erfoud, which are noted for their dates and fossils, on our way to Erg Chebbi Dunes. You may discover more about this unusual art form and take a tour of a fossil craft studio.

At last, we reach Erg Chebbi’s Merzouga Dunes, where you will settle into your accommodation and savor a captivating meal accompanied by customary Berber melodies. The hotel offers a distinctive and cozy stay that lets you completely enjoy the calm beauty of the nighttime desert.

DAY 6: JOURNEY OF THE DESERT – VISIT NOMADS – CAMEL TREKKING – OVERNIGHT DESERT CAMP:

After a delectable breakfast, we take a journey to Khamlia village, where you may enjoy authentic Gnawa music performed to captivating rhythms. Then, deviating from the planned path, we’ll travel along unpaved road across the dunes and stop to have tea with nomads who live in traditional Berber tents. You’ll get to see a different way of life through this immersive experience, and you’ll even get to eat lunch—Berber pizza.

After unwinding at the hotel in the late afternoon, you’ll get ready for an amazing camel ride into the center of the dunes to see the magnificent sunset. After being welcomed with mint tea at the camp, you can unwind in your comfortable tents with private bathrooms and showers while the Sahara displays its breathtaking nighttime colors. Dinner is served, and while you dine, the group by the fire performs some music, adding to the romantic atmosphere of a starry Sahara night.

DAY 7: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ARFOUD – TODGHA GORGES – DADS VALLEY:

To ensure you don’t miss this amazing sight, get up early today to see the magnificent dawn, when the dunes come to life with an enthralling display of colors and shadows. Following breakfast, you will return to the Merzouga on your camel, meet your driver, and travel to Dades Gorges.

We will make a stop in the vibrant traditional market of Rissani on the route. When you stroll through its busy streets on a market day—Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays—you’ll be met with a colorful display of colors, scents, and sounds. We then make our way to Arfoud, where you may stop by a workshop that displays fossilized marble. We will pause for lunch as we continue our journey through the charming palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad.

We’ll then take a car to the Todgha Gorges. There are breathtaking red cliff-sided canyons in A River that are ideal for rock climbing. Take your time exploring the gorges, strolling through the breathtaking surroundings and taking in the beauty of nature all around you.

Boumalne Dades is the route we take as we proceed to the Dades Valley. Along the route, stop to view the well-known “monkey fingers” rock formations and a quaint location perched atop a mountain with breathtaking views of the Dades Valley. Lastly, end the day with a hotel stay and dinner.
